The parts so far now I am going to take a break for the weekend
And finished two other models that have been waiting to be finished.
Here is the Chin sword it's been billed as per the sheet all the parts work
As far as I have made them.
Here a tip and how I build my models to the most part.
1st cut out the part without the tabs as I find they get in the way most of the time
But joining and putting the extra tabs on the inside a better finished.
For Cutting out I use Swann Morton No3 and a very good scissors.
Sometimes the parts do not show the fold well so I put the part on to the other part as the pic/show
Then I know where to put the fold in.
When folding I use knitting needle one of the small kind I can a lot for only 30p to £1 from a 2nd hand shop
The other are good for rolling as most tell you watt size they are and have many more uses.
The pic that a lot I got for only 30p.
Next before gluing I use water colour paints for the egad you can get a good mach by mixing.
You can get cheep box from the market PS they dry lighter so when mixing go darker and test on a piece of card.
Now for gluing the parts.
Using toothpick wood glue and a square this also hold the 1st part down as and help to get the parts glued
As the 1st part has folds in it and do's not sit flat.
The part is folded up so that I can glue up the end of it a wait to hold it down and the 1st square.
Bend up the end and glue then using the 2nd square to hold it in place till dry.
Repeat for the other side that finished that one.
Repeat for all other parts.
Fix tabs ware needed and let dry.
These squares make good clamps as you can see.
Using the squares and a set square the two parts can be left to dry.
Repeat for all the parts.
When finished you should have a very good item.
Plus most important TAKE YOUR TIME THERE NO RUSH
The sword is now done
